Tobruk HoR Abolishes Political Isolation Law-Decision Ineffective, Parliament Unrecognized

The Tobruk-based House of Representative, which defied Supreme Court ruling on parliament dissolution, says it abolished The Political Isolation Law today. The decision will be ineffective as the HoR is no longer recognized in several Libyan cities especially in the western and southern regions.

The General National Congress and the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) agreed today to hold the next round of national dialogue in Libya, and declined to name the location for security and logistic reasons. The agreement was made following the visit of the UNSMIL’s Bernardino León to the GNC and his meeting with the congress speaker Nuri Abu Sahmain.
