Abdul Ati Al-Obeidi And Mohammed Al-Zwai Go On Trial September 10, 2012


Mohamed Abu Al-Quasim al-Zwai was the Secretary General of Libya’s General People’s Congress (head of state of Libya) from 2010 until 2011.


Abdul Ati al-Obeidi was the General Secretary of the General People’s Committee (Prime Minister) from 1 March 1977 to 1 March 1979. He held the position of Head of State from 2 March 1979 to 7 January 1981. He also served his country as Minister for European Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs (1982, 1984 and 2011), Deputy Foreign Minister, Libyan Ambassador to Tunisia and Libyan ambassador to Italy.

Their only crime is that they were honorable members of the former legitimate Libyan government. For this they will be tried as common criminals and executed.
